WordCult Theme release 0.3
I’ve had some time the last few days while my XPS computer has been having difficulties and the Dell replacement parts didn’t fix, what I know now to be a faulty LCD screen.
So I’ve made a few updates and changes to my WordCult theme. The new version is: 0.3.
Download it:
[download#3#format=1]
Update for 0.3:
A lot of changes to the core files, many files have been changed, removed and moved. So please if upgrading, backup your database. The core folder has been changed from wordcult2
to wordcult
so you may want to just upload it as another theme and activate it.
For any other changes please view the changelog or view the readme file.
If you’ve noticed any issues please contact me or leave a comment.
Update for 0.3.0.1:
This was fast.. I forgot to add a function to my sub_page_menu
:).
Update for 0.3.1.1:
Crucial update! Fixes an spelling error in the metaboxes.php file, which could pose an issue with your custom fields like the “image” dynamic resizer.

Possible photo tagging plugin update
Have you tried to download any of the community tagging plugins with no prevail?
I recently posted a comment in response to a post on Justin Tadlock’s WordPress site about custom taxonomies. Then was asked by a reader how I integrated my custom taxonomies with one of Matt Mullenwegs “tagging” plugin.
Anyway, I tried to install and use both plugins before with no luck. But decided to download Community Tags and try my luck again. With some hacking, I got it working. For a demo you can check out and tag (someone you know or recognize only, please) a picture over at my photography site, http://thefrosty.com.
Anyway, before I get carried away, I had a reader email me and ask how I integrated the plugin. And I thought I would ask you if you would be interedted in a re-re-release of the plugin.
At present time I do have some array
errors, but everything works just fine as is.
Your comment feedback would be great! Thanks!

austin, hi!
i’m in love with this theme, great design, very cean and readable
i’ve been having a couple of issues, that you might want to help me fix
first, when you reply a comment, isn’t it supposed to show the comment form by moving all of the content down? it’s not doing that, and i’m checking the code once and again and i can’t find where it is anything wrong
second, it would be great if there was a 1024 version, i’ll try and adapt this one, just reducing it a bit, because where i live, well, mainly everyone still usues that resolution…
and the last thing, i found that sometimes when there are for instance two widgets on the sidebar, if the post is not too ong the design would break… one of the widgets will be shown below the post… really weird…
anyway, if you can help me with the first thing, i’ll very much apreciate that.
thank you!
det´s last blog post..Nuevo diseño y algunas funcionalidades nuevas

Hi Austin, just wanted to ask you a quick question after playing around with your theme for the past couple of months.
Basically it involves the use of NextGen plugin. By default when you click on any of the thumbnails of the gallery presented within the given post it should open a larger version of the image overlayed ontop of the current webpage without having to actually leave the webpage and go directly to the image. You can see what I mean on my site here.
What I noticed with the WordCult theme is that it doesn’t do this function, and instead takes your browser straight to the image URL. See here. So I wanted to ask you if you knew of any way to resolve this to work like it’s intended above? Or if you could at least shed some light on what is causing it to behave that way?!
Despite this little discrepancy I still like the WC theme you created very much and I plan to roll with it full-steam ahead very soon!
Many thanks in advance.
Austin

I am not sure why this is happening. I’ve had a few bugs in the theme, but really haven’t had much time to update it for current use.
Most likely I won’t be able to tell you why this is happening. I think you should try a gallery plugin to fix this or check a setting in NextGen.
Thanks for using my theme. Let me know if this solves it out you come across any solutions.

Thanks for the prompt reply!
Just FYI, I looked into the WP forums and came across this thread that got the closet to addressing the ThickBox functionality not working properly. The general consensus is that themes need to make sure that they have this in their footer:
< ?php wp_footer(); ? >
However, since your theme does have this code snippet already present that’s not the problem. It’s possible that there maybe something within the theme itself tripping up the JS function that tries to call ThickBox. Or some weird ghost in the machine.
I dunno, I uninstalled NextGen from the plugins then reinstalled a fresh copy, and cleared my browsers cache but noticed no improvement. I installed NextGEN Smooth Gallery to see if that would help any, but nada, zip. So not sure yet what’s the problem.
I’ll play around with it some more over the weekend and if I find a way to troubleshoot it I’ll post it here. Again, thanks for your time.
